    Janitrol Furnaces

I recently purchased a foreclosure property 2008. Prior to acquiring this property I’d never heard of Janitrol Furnaces. The home I purchased was built in 1969, Imagine my surprise to find the original Janitrol furnace still operational. This furnace is 40 years old and quite an eye sore. But, it is still effectively heating a 3 bdrm, single family home. Im quite sure by today’s standards its efficiency is non existent. But, its reliability “unsurpassed”. I don’t know how much longer its going to run I am prepared to purchase a newer furnace. And incidentally, my winter gas bills have been surprisingly average.

HAD MY FURNACE SINCE MY HOUSE WAS PURCHASED IN NOV/2000 ,NOT A SINGLE PROBLEM,HAD IT TUNED UP ONCE IN 2002,AND THE MACHANIC SAID IT CAN LAST ANOTHER 50 YEARS THESE BOILERS WERE MADE VERY WELL,IM SURE ITS NOT THAT EFFICIANT BUT ITS STILL KICKING VERY WELL.BUT HE DID SAY WENT ITS GONNA BREAK DOWN ITS DONE FOREVER THE PARTS ARE PRETTY MUCH NON EXISTANT.SO IF YOU HAVE ONE JUST KEEP AN EYE ON IT YOU WILL BE SURPRISED ON THE RELIABILITY.

My house was built in 1930-furnace installed in 1967…I moved in 15 years ago and hoped the old klunker would get me thou the winter here in Mich.
Here we are 15 years later and still nice and warm…only problem is I might need a blower motor soon :- )
