Tempstar Heat Pump Reviews

Tempstar offers heat pumps in efficiency ranges from 13 SEER 7.7 HSPF to 17 SEER 9.5 HSPF. Tempstar offers a variety of warranties depending on the Tempstar heat pump product you select and typically the higher efficiency ranges get the better warranties with Tempstar heat pumps. Some features of selected Tempstar heat pumps are:

  • Selected Tempstar heat pump units use R-410A refrigerant
  • Selected Tempstar heat pump units have two-stage compressors for better energy efficiency
  • 10 Year warranty on the condenser coil for selected Tempstar heat pump units
  • Diagnostic features on the control board for easier heat pump troubleshooting

There is not much history about Tempstar except the fact they are owned by United Technologies.

    Many repairs

Not much good I can say about this brand or Heat Pump. Any energy savings has been far surpassed by repairs. Same with the AC. Stay away from this brand.

    Don’t Buy

Warranty for 5 years. Immediately died. We are having to replace the entire unit. DON’T BUY THIS BRAND.

  4. I replaced a heat pump in 2010 that has been in my house for 21 years with no service repairs as it was just getting noisy. I took the advice of a local dealer and purchased a temp star. That was the LARGEST mistake I ever made. It is now not working again. The compressor has gone out for the second time. Once in 2012 and now in 2015 at the cost of $1100. Each time. STAY AWAY FROM TEMPSTAR!!!!!!!! I talk to them and was told there was nothing they could do for me.
